Reusable Protective Face Masks

New Reusable Protective Face Masks

Mother Nature Products' Pledge: until such time as we have flattened the curve in SA we shall use 100% of profits from the sale of our masks towards making masks to donate to hospital staff at our local provincial hospitals.

“My mask protects you and  your mask protects me from airborne germs.”

Text Box: Features:
Nose wire to hold the mask firmly covering your face.
Ear elastics to hold your mask in place.
100% cotton outer (wax fabric) and inner layer (absorbing cotton fabric).
Pocket to place a non- woven disposable filter (optional) e.g. a thick tissue, nappy liner, coffee filter, carlton towel. This allows you to breathe but prevents airborne particles from penetrating, acting as a two-way protective barrier - we have included a few sheets to get you started!

Face masks are part of a series of protective measures used to prevent cross infection of germs and avoid air pollution. Wearing gloves, goggles and using hand sanitizer regularly go together with wearing a mask. Keep your distance from others (1.5 meters).

How To Wear A Surgical Mask Correctly

1.      Clean your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitiserbefore touching the mask.

2.      For extra protection place a non- woven disposable filter in the middle (examples in features box).

3.      Hold the mask with the stiff bendable strip on top, and the coloured side facing outwards.

4.      Hold the mask by the ear loops, and place a loop around each ear.

5.      Mould or pinch the nose strip to conform to the shape of your nose.

6.      Pull the bottom of the surgical mask over your mouth and chin with no gaps around the sides.

How To Remove A Surgical Mask Correctly

1.      Clean your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitiserbefore touching the mask.

2.      AVOID touching the front of the mask, because it is contaminated. Only touch the ear loops / ear ties / ear bands.

3.      Hold and unhook both ear loops and gently lift the mask away from your face.

4.      Discard of the disposable inner filter in the toilet, bin or preferably burn.

5.      Holding the mask only by the ear loops place your mask into a bowl of warm soapy water (ordinary detergent or soap is perfect). Hand wash your mask. Line dry.

6.      Clean your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitiser again, before touching anything else.

A used mask can become a vector for disease as the pathogens multiply in its fibers so always either wash your mask after use or hang outside in the sun for a day to kill off any pathogens.
