Our baby shop, Mother Nature Products, are proud manufacturers of great green baby products in Cape Town, South Africa, since 2006.

The founding member, Joanne Austin, was impressed by the widespread use of cloth nappies while living in London. Surprising due to their lack of space and sun! Upon returning to South Africa she decided to create a complete baby nappy system using natural, organic, and recycled materials.

Over the years Joanne has become an expert in living green, even appearing on eTV’s Great Expectations as Eco Mom. She has also published a number of articles such as Green Baby Tips for Natural Medicine magazine.  As a qualified nursing sister with many years of experience working with children, she is committed to maintaining Mother Nature Products as the trusted green baby choice.

Mother Nature Products has fast become a favoured supplier to our retailers. The number one reason is for its ethical manufacturing practices & choice of natural materials, being BIG supporters of local suppliers, and creating local jobs. We believe in aiming for high standards of quality & functionality, no compromise.

We use silky soft bamboo and natural cotton fabrics. Bamboo is a lot highly absorbent, durable, and has antibacterial properties. It is also grown without using crop spraying and requires less surface area to produce. It is 100% Natural Bamboo yarn and not Bamboo Viscose. Feel the difference!

In future we would like to see more government regulation regarding the manufacture of all nappies and allow for effective biodegrading to take place before ending up in the landfill site; for it to become common practice for all nappy users to use biodegradable nappy liners that are flushed away in a sewerage system and for more parents to opt for eco-friendly nappies whether that is a cloth or disposable nappy or both.
